This privacy notice applies only to this website and not to any other websites that users may visit via links.
This privacy notice sets out certain minimum requirements for the collection of personal data online and, in particular, the methods, timing and nature of the information that data controllers must provide to users when they access web pages, regardless of the purpose of their visit.
THE DATA CONTROLLER
Visiting this website may result in the processing of data relating to identified or identifiable individuals.
The data controller is Comet S.p.A., represented by its legal representative pro tempore.
PLACE OF DATA PROCESSING
Processing operations connected with this website’s services take place at the Company’s registered office and are carried out exclusively by technical staff authorised to process the data or by personnel occasionally engaged in maintenance operations.
No data collected through the website’s services are communicated to third parties or disseminated.
Personal data provided by users who request information materials (bulletins, CD-ROMs, catalogues, price lists, answers to enquiries, various documents, etc.) are used solely to provide the requested service.
TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED
Browsing data
The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire certain personal data during their normal operation. The transmission of such data is inherent in the use of Internet communication protocols.
These data are not collected for the purpose of associating them with identified data subjects; however, by their very nature, they could make it possible to identify users through processing and association with data held by third parties.
This category includes the IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by visitors to the website, the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) addresses of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file received in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the server’s response (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and IT environment.
These data are used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information about use of the website and to check that it is functioning correctly, and they are deleted immediately after processing. The data may be used to establish liability in the event of alleged cybercrimes against the website. Except in such cases, data relating to website connections are currently retained for no longer than seven days.
Data provided voluntarily by users
The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of emails to the addresses provided on this website entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s email address, which is necessary to reply to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message.
Specific summary privacy notices will progressively be provided or displayed on the pages of the website dedicated to particular services available upon request.
USE OF COOKIES
For information about how cookies are used, please refer to the specific extended cookie notice published on this website, drawn up in accordance with the provision issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority on 8 May 2014, which supplements and completes this document.
USE OF TRACKING PIXELS IN EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS
Email communications sent by the Company, particularly newsletters, may contain tracking tools (so-called tracking pixels). These are tiny images that are not perceptible to the recipient and that, when the message is opened, enable information to be detected, such as whether the email has been opened, the date and time, the IP address and the type of device used. Their use is governed by Article 122 of Legislative Decree No. 196/2003 and by the guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority concerning tracking pixels in email communications. The purposes of processing, the relevant legal basis, the methods for giving and withdrawing consent and the data retention periods are described in the specific privacy notice provided when subscribing to the newsletter and published on this website, to which full reference is made.
OPTIONAL PROVISION OF DATA
Except as specified for browsing data, users are free to decide whether or not to provide their personal data. Failure to provide such data may make it impossible to fulfil their requests.
METHODS OF PROCESSING
Personal data are processed using automated tools for the period strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected.
Specific security measures are adopted to prevent data loss, unlawful or improper use and unauthorised access.
TRANSFERS TO THIRD COUNTRIES
Any transfer of personal data to a third country outside the European Union or to an international organisation will take place on the basis of an adequacy decision by the European Commission or, in the case of transfers pursuant to Articles 46, 47 or 49(2) of the Regulation, on the basis of appropriate safeguards.
DATA SUBJECTS’ RIGHTS
Data subjects have the right, at any time, to request access to their personal data, rectification or erasure of those data, restriction of processing, to object to processing, and to data portability. They also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
Requests should be addressed to the Data Controller or the Data Protection Officer (DPO) at dpo@comet-spa.com.

The data controller
Comet S.p.A.
With Legislative Decree No. 24/2023, Italy implemented Directive 2019/1937 concerning the protection of the authors of reports of crimes or irregularities that have come to their knowledge in the context of their employment relationship (so-called “Whistleblowing”), providing, under certain conditions, the obligation for private companies to activate internal reporting channels, which guarantee the confidentiality and identity of the whistleblower and protect him from any possible retaliatory action.
Comet S.p.A, already endowed with an Organisational Model pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/01, has coordinated and adapted the reporting system already in use with the recent legislation, by implementing a reporting channel called the Whistleblowing platform which can be accessed by clicking on the following link Comet Group Whistleblowing to send to the Whistleblowing Manager of Comet S.p.A your reports.
Comet S.p.A believes that an adequate whistleblowing system can enable employees, customers and suppliers to send reports in a systematic and confidential manner, and to establish a protected and constant interaction and dialogue with its Whistleblowing Manager.
